The great initiative – “eBIZ footwear campaign” (EFC) taken by the organization eBIZ.Com Pvt. Ltd., on the republic day this 2010 is totally unique and one of its kind. We have contributed to the society previously by conducting computer awareness camps, blood donation camps, inspirational talks and so on, but now the idea was to do something that not many would have thought of, let alone doing! So how did this entire concept of EFC occur? It was when Ms. Akshata Prabhu (Diamond associate in eBIZ and a pass out from RVCE) was reading through a text, & she came across an article about a person who happens do small little things here n there for people, for his personal satisfaction, One of which was donating a slipper to an individual walking bare-footed. She discussed this with Er. Sujit Lalwani(diplomat in ebiz.com, OneYoungWorld delegate and an inspirational speaker)who then took a vision of saving as many feet, undergoing pain and this finally took the shape of EFC.
We think of helping the poor with food, clothes, books or generally money. But we hardly notice that most of them walk miles together for their living, every single day in the hot sun, on the dirty and uneven roads without footwear. So why not provide them with protection to their feet so that they walk extra miles?! If one person could think of making a difference to the underprivileged in this way, Sujit ji thought, how big a difference, we as a huge team could make to the hundreds of people around us. And thus the idea was a reality on 26th Jan, 2010. We as a team of more than 50 youngsters in Bangalore and 15 in Chennai took the first step towards this mission. The visions are so huge that this is not even the beginning. “Lots more to come”
